About
Keith Williams
Anchored Miriam is the dream of sailor Keith Williams to honor his mother Miriam. Keith is starting to plot his course to sail solo from NYC to Hawaii and begins sailing classes in May for his captains license. Joining the Navy in 1996 exposed him to the sea and gave him the opportunity to sail across the Atlantic twice.
At this time in his life journey Keith is wanting to share his love of sailing and expose the freedom and opportunity of maritime careers with a new demographic. As a black man it is extremely important for him to pay forward the opportunities of sailing to underserved youth. Keith’s goal is to change the sailing narrative and give all people the opportunity to chart their own journey by sea.
Follow Keith’s journey to make history as the first black man to sail solo from NYC to Hawaii.
